Mrs. Johnson

Dear Families,

Welcome to 2024!  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.  My name is Nicole Johnson, and this is my 2nd year at Kingsway Elementary and with the Charlotte County Public School District. This is my 16th year of teaching; in addition to Second Grade, I have experience teaching kindergarten and first grade. This is my fourth year teaching second grade. Teaching runs in my family. My mom is nearing the end of her career in Oregon. She has taught for over thirty years in kindergarten. My passion for teaching and love of learning comes from her!

For the first couple of weeks we will be focusing on community building and coming together as a class family. We will be learning about each other and our families. Therefore, I would like to share a little about myself. I was born in Newport Beach, California, but was raised in Sisters, Oregon.  I came to Florida due to my husband getting a remote job, and we traveled in an RV for 2 years. My husband has retired from the Army and is a Network Engineer that still gets to work from home! We did move around a lot due to the military. We have 2 kiddos that are 18 and 21 and 2 little dogs named Coco and Patches. Besides teaching, I love traveling, going to the beach, crafting and spending time with my family!

If you have any questions or anything you would like to discuss with me, please come to me. I have an open-door policy.  I want you to feel like we are partners and that we have clear communication and resources. I want your child to not only succeed as a Second Grader, but to establish a love of learning that will help them for the rest of their lives! I can generally be reached at school until 4:00 each day. Additionally, you may reach me on my school email or on remind.  If you choose to contact me using email, please remember that I am unable to check my email while class is in session. With all of us working together, it will be an excellent year!  If you have a message that is time-sensitive (change of pick-up arrangements, etc.) please call the office. I will do my best to be prompt with my response either by phone, email and remind.

There is great excitement building as the New Year begins!  It is my hope that we all have a successful year of learning and growing together!

                                Sincerely,

                                             Mrs. Nicole Johnson
